Dogs are fun, they’re adorable, and they make loyal companions. They’re truly man’s best friend AND they can also be his best business partner. Jedda is no different, except for one thing—she’s a four-legged bed bug sniffing machine. At just 1 year old, she’s studied and trained at Iron Heart Performance Canine Academy for 4 MONTHS (that’s like a Phd in dog years). There she learned how to be the best bed bug sniffing beagle this side of the Brooks Range and one of only a handful to serve Alaskans needing bed bug inspection.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT A BED BUG SMELLS LIKE?
Nope. But Jedda does! That’s because she’s got over 200 million scent receptors as compared to our measly 5 million. And, every one of her powerful olfactory nerves is trained to the scent of live bed bugs. But, she doesn’t like to rest on her laurels, as she practices sniffing out bloodsuckers every night, honing her tracking skills.
HUMANS CAN ONLY USE THEIR EYES
Human bed bug inspection is all visual, requiring long hours, shuffling belongings and disassembling furniture. Jedda, on the other hand is small, and makes quick work sniffing around corners, under couches, and in closets. Not to mention, humans are far less accurate and need visual evidence like fecal matter, live bugs, or shed skin. Jedda accurately uses her nose to find these blood suckers in your home. And, because time is of the essence when finding bed bugs she won’t waste a minute finding bed bugs on your property.
Bed Bugs cause strong emotions—fear, anger, disgust, confusion. But, don’t let that be the reason you spend thousands on treating your entire property. Jedda’s sniffer can pinpoint problem areas, meaning if she doesn’t find bed bugs on the whole property, we’ll recommend just spot treatments. This can save you big bucks.
100% PEACE OF MIND
We trust dogs to sniff out drugs, bombs, and scents left behind by criminals. Why wouldn’t we trust them to find bed bugs? Together Jedda and I make one tough team, training day and night to be the best bed bug busters in Alaska. And, because we inspect both pre and post treatment, you’ll know for sure that the bugs are gone for good.
LANDLORDS AND HOTEL MANAGERS
According to Alaska Statute 34.03.100 landlords must keep their rentals in a “fit and habitable condition”. This includes ensuring units are free of bed bugs. The best way to do this? A bed bug management plan that includes regular inspections that are fit to your specific needs and schedule. Jedda’s fast, she’s accurate, she’s one tough pup—and she’s ready to find bed bugs before they multiply out of control.
